Dinky Dyes Silks

Dinky Dyes uses the best quality 6 stranded spun silk as a base product on which to create the wonderfully unique colors found in their line. The silk is manufactured to their own specifications in Asia. As Dinky Dyes are hand dyed, dye lots will vary. Every effort is made to ensure consistency in floss colors but inevitably, there will be some subtle differences. We encourage you to buy enough threads from the same dye lot to complete your project. We carry all 196 beautiful colors in the silk range.
 

DMC #5 Perle Cotton

Having carried DMC six-stranded floss since we opened our doors in 2001, we have decided to discontinue that thread line in favor of Sullivan's embroidery floss. However, we will continue to carry the DMC #5 Perles. Sullivan's is a 6-stranded Egyptian cotton that is comparable in color, consistency and texture to our other premium flosses. It's what we use to stitch with, and we hope our customers will like it as much as we do. The DMC numbers are listed in () beside the Sullivan number choices. Gentle Art

At the Gentle Art they maintain a serious commitment to the quality of their thread. They hand overdye each batch of thread to ensure that it is treated with care. They choose dyes and catalyst agents for the thread which are highly efficient and extremely gentle to maintain its durability. In fact, they are as gentle as the laundry detergent used in your home. As with any hand done process, there are slight variations within each dyelot, and there is a margin for error. They are proud to say that theirs is small and they strive to minimize it.
